FAQs:
Where does this fit in the skincare routine?
Maritime Naturals Retinol Serum may be applied after cleansing. As with any serum, it is necessary to follow with a good moisturizer. This serum can be used both morning and night.Â
How much retinol is in the product?
All of our retinol products contain the maximum amount of retinol permitted by Health Canada - 1%. Because retinol aids in cell turnover, it can cause irritation to sensitive skin. We suggest starting with a a small amount, two or three nights a week. This is so skin can build a 'tolerance' to the ingredient, becoming more accustomed to it over time. Retinol can then be used more often as time builds.Â

Skeptical - Is it 1% retinol?
A 1% retinol cream from a pharmacy normally burns. I didn't feel anything when I applied this so it makes me skeptical that it actually contains retinol.Nowhere on the bottle does it claim to have 1% retinol.I didn’t see a difference in my skin and I’ve been using it every day for weeks.Very disappointing

Waste of money
Very watery...didn't notice any difference in my skin after 6 weeks ...
Maritime Naturals
We are sorry you are not satisfied. As for the consistency of the serum, yes it is thin. When using a serum, a thinner serum is best. When the molecular structure is smaller, as in a thinner product, it is able to go deeper into the skin and stay there longer so that it can do the most good. If the molecules are too large, as in a thick product, they just sit on the skin’s surface and do not penetrate, but just create a barrier. Please contact us directly for a refund.
